Summit is listed among the teams in the initial Tennessee Wrestling Coaches Poll, coming in at No. 9.
Now in its 29th year, the poll is primarily a measure of dual-meet strength with some consideration given to individual tournament strength. Votes are cast by a statewide panel of high school coaches and are based on a maximum power ranking of 144.
The Spartans improved to 11-0 on the season with a 36-30 district win Tuesday at 12th-ranked Brentwood. Thursday’s scheduled match against Green Hill has been canceled, as has a weekend trip to Cleveland for a duals tournament. Currently, their next match is set for Dec. 18 against visiting Riverdale.
