Zion Christian’s Luke Perko and Columbia Academy’s Collins Malone are among the Division II athletes recognized as all-state football performers by the Tennessee Sports Writers Association, which announced its Class A, Class AA and Class AAA teams this week.

Perko, the Eagles’ junior quarterback/linebacker, threw for 1,432 yards and 22 touchdowns along with a team-high 822 rushing yards and seven TDs over 10 games as a first-year starter. He was also one of Zion’s top defenders as the team posted a 4-6 record.

Malone led the Bulldogs in receptions, receiving yardage and receiving touchdowns (22 catches, 365 yards, three TDs) as well as total tackles (51) and tackles for loss (10) from his linebacker position. The junior added a pair of sacks, an interception and two fumble recoveries in seven on-field games as CA officially finished 1-6.
