Columbia Academy’s offense continues to produce, as the Bulldogs stayed unbeaten on the young season with Thursday’s 6-1 win over visiting Zion Christian in Division II-A District 3 play.

Senior forward Joshua Brake scored twice in the opening 40 minutes to give CA a 2-0 lead. He completed his hat trick with a goal in the second half, with classmates Will Garrison and Christopher Modeste each finding the back of the net as well.

The ‘Dawgs extended the lead to 6-0 on an ‘own-goal’ off a corner kick, before Zion Christian broke up Harrison Diles’ shutout attempt with a late Aidan Brown goal.

CA moves to 2-0-1 (2-0) with the win, following a 5-3 victory Monday over district foe Middle Tennessee Christian and a 3-3 draw Tuesday against the Middle Tennessee Crusaders. It marked the first loss for the Eagles, who played Community to a 2-2 deadlock Tuesday.

Columbia Academy returns to the pitch Friday at 7 p.m. against visiting Summit. Zion Christian resumes action Monday with league foe Christ Presbyterian Academy visiting for a 6 p.m. contest.
