Baseball

Siegel 15, Spring Hill 2: Siegel put up big run totals in the second (4), third (3) and fourth (5) innings on Wednesday as the Raiders dropped a Jim Painter Classic tilt with the Stars. Jackson Marbet went yard in the third inning. Marbet, Brantley Whitwell and Dawson Hargrove each managed one hit to lead Spring Hill.

Clarksville 7, Summit 6: Clarksville took advantage of seven Summit errors on Wednesday en route to a win over the Spartans in the Jim Painter Classic. Devin Thrain took the loss on the bump, despite going four innings and giving up just one earned run while striking out three. Drew Plummer had a pair of hits and an RBI to lead Summit.

Giles Co. 6, Loretto 4 (9 inn.): Jacob Cardin signled home a pair of runs in the ninth to lift Giles County over Loretto. The Mustangs led 4-0 after five innings, but the Bobcats tied the game in the sixth with four runs of their own. Caleb Davis led Loretto offensively, as he had three of the Mustangs’ six hits in the game.

Softball

Dickson Co. 3, Spring Hill 2 (8 inn.): Despite Katherine Carter’s best efforts, the Spring Hill Lady Raiders could not earn a District 11-AAA win on Wednesday. Carter went 3-for-4 at the dish and struck out 13 from the circle in the loss. She scattered six Cougars hits, and gave up two earned runs.

Tennis

CA sweeps BGA: Columbia Academy’s boys and girls tennis teams earned wins over BGA Wednesday. The boys improved to a perfect 5-0 on the season, while the girls match now stand at 3-2 overall. The CA girls won 7-0, with wins from Piper Brock, Abby Burgess, Anna Claire Butt, Hallie Butterfield and Caroline Prince in singles, while Brock/Burgess and Butt/Butterfield earned doubles wins. For the boys, Miles Nixon, Aaron Sullivan, Hayes Lewis and Nathan Thomas earned wins in singles action, while Lewis/Thomas won their doubles match. CA won the match 5-2.
