Columbia Acad. 11, Franklin Road Acad. 1: Bryant Beranek sat down 13 of Franklin Road’s hitters on strikes Tuesday. The Bulldog tossed six innings, giving up one run on two hits in the outing. Max Ballard provided an offensive gem, going a perfect 4-for-4 at the dish with four RBIs. He and Kavares Tears had home runs in the win. Tanner Ham added three hits, two RBIs and two runs scored.

Summit 10, Spring Hill 6: Alex Runk drove in four runs with a bases-clearing double and a sacrifice fly for Summit to help his team to a big 11-AAA win over Spring Hill. The double put Summit ahead 10-1 in the sixth. Spring Hill did not go away quietly, however, putting up four runs in the bottom half of the inning, including a Dawson Hargove double and Nathaniel Huntinger 2-RBI single. Jason Hamm pitched two innings for the Spartans, and Parker Dean went five full. Jackson Marbet took the loss on the hill, going three innings and giving up two earned runs while striking out three and walking five Summit hitters.

Lincoln Co. 9, Columbia Central 1: A five-run third inning for Lincoln County put the Falcons in front comfortably and they cruised to an 8-AAA win Tuesday. Columbia Central managed just two hits in the game, though one was a solo home run from Ta’Vin Barner in the fourth inning. Sam Pale tallied the only other Lions hit of the game. Barner took the loss, giving up seven earned runs on six hits. He did notch six strikeouts as well.

Lawrence Co. 5, Tullahoma 4: Bryson McFall walked and then found his way home in the 8th inning on a Tullahoma error to lift his Wildcat team to an 8-AAA win. Colton Moore shut down the host Wildcats in the bottom half with a 1-2-3 inning on a ground out and two strikeouts. Moore was also 2-for-4 at the plate with a pair of RBIs.

Zion Chr. 11, Providence Chr. 1: Luke Perko pitched a gem and helped himself at the plate in his team’s win Tuesday. Perko was 2-for-4 with three RBIs in the win, while also pitching five innings and giving up no earned runs on just three hits. Jackson Hughes was 3-for-3 and also had three RBIs for the Eagles.

Independence 1, Dickson Co. 0: Senior pitcher Will Tobin tossed a no-hitter against Dickson County, striking out nine and walking just one.

Softball

Zion Chr. 18, Riverside Chr. 0: Rebecca Hazard was hazardous with a bat in her hand on Tuesday. The Lady Eagles’ cleanup hitter certainly lived up to her title, as she went 2-for-3 in Zion’s win with six RBIs. She drove in two runs on a triple in the first inning, another when she was hit by a pitch later in the same inning, which the Eagles plated eight runs. She also had a three-run home run later in the game. Kyndall Daranovich and Claire Boyd combined for the four-inning shutout in the circle.

Columbia Acad. 8, Middle Tenn. Chr. 1: Averi Slaughter was dominant in the circle for Columbia Academy, pitching a complete game and giving up one earned run on four hits and striking out eight for the Lady Bulldogs. At the plate, Journey Mitchell, Chloe Carter and Laney Turner each had a pair of hits, while Karli Quillin drove in three runs with a bases-clearing triple in the fourth.

Franklin 3, Summit 2: Following seven scoreless innings, both teams awakened their bats in the eighth inning with the host Lady Admirals getting the extra run they needed on a Summit error that allowed two runs to score on a ground ball in the infield. In the top of the eighth, Summit got an RBI on a suicide squeeze from Ellery Stephenson, and she would later score on a Franklin error to give the Spartan women a 2-0 lead. Lily Kate Richards went seven innings for Summit, giving up no earned runs and scattering four hits.
