Weekend Raptor Classic at Fly Park features local flavor

Columbia Academy, Independence, Spring Hill, Summertown and Summit will be part of the field for the Raptor Classic softball tournament this weekend at Fly Park in Franklin.

“We have 25 teams entered, many of which are among the best teams … in the state,” Ravenwood coach Allison Brown said. “It should be a great weekend of high-level competition.”

Pool play begins with a pair of 2:30 p.m. contests Friday, with games to follow at 4 p.m., 5:30 p.m., 7 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Pool play games will resume at 9 a.m. Saturday, with the final round set for 10:30 a.m.

Single-elimination bracket play will start at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, with the championship game scheduled for 8 p.m.

Friday

2:30 p.m. – Hazel Green (Ala.) vs. Columbia Acad.; Brentwood Acad. vs. Goodpasture

4 p.m. – Ravenwood vs. Nashville Chr.; Hazel Green (Ala.) vs. Summit; Brentwood Acad. vs.  Brentwood; Franklin vs. Wilson Central; Father Ryan vs. Nolensville; Spring Hill vs. Hume-Fogg

5:30 p.m. – Ravenwood vs. Westmoreland; Columbia Acad. vs. Lebanon; Goodpasture vs. Mt. Juliet; Wilson Central vs. Independence; White House vs. Franklin; Nashville Chr. vs. Collierville
