Lawrence Co. 4, Franklin Co. 3: The Wildcats overcame four errors to get an 8-AAA win at home on Tuesday. Lawrence County used a pair of doubles, one each from Grant James and Luke Nichols to score runs in the sixth to tie it and a single from Camden Bosheers to take the lead before Luke Boswell earned a save with a perfect seventh for Brad White’s club.

Dickson Co. 11, Summit 1: A nine-run second inning blew open the 11-AAA contest for the Cougars. Four Summit errors in the game, coupled with an inability to barrel the baseball on offense led to a tough night on the road. Cameron Lee, the brightest star for Summit, went 3-for-3 at the plate with the Spartans’ lone RBI.

Middle Tenn. Chr. 13, Zion Chr. 0: Zion Christian couldn’t get anything going on offense for a second night in a row, mustering just one hit in the loss to MTCS. Dillan Runions finished the game 1-for-3 to lead the way.

Softball

Lincoln County 12, Columbia Central 2: The Lady Lions fell behind early and couldn’t find any rhythm on offense or defense against a stout Lady Falcons group. Lincoln County scored seven runs in the second to break open the game. Tashiya Lyles was 3-for-3 at the dish with a run scored to cap the highlights for Columbia Central.

Columbia Acad. 11, Shelbyville 0: Myleah Hardy sent a two-run walk-off homer to left field in the sixth inning to inch closer to the school’s single-season record. She was 2-for-4 and had three RBIs in the game. The Bulldogs pounded out 11 hits in the win, including a pair each from Kennedy Chatman and Journey Mitchell. Averi Slaughter got the win, going four innings and striking out 10. Anna Brewer and Mitchell each pitched one inning with Brewer striking out the side.

Richland 8, Culleoka 6: Richland earned a come-from-behind win on Tuesday following a Deanna Smith home run to tie it in a four-run fourth and a Gracie Adams triple to take the lead 7-6 in the fifth. Tayler Watson homered in the first inning to give Culleoka a 4-0 lead and then again with a solo shot in the fourth, but the Lady Warriors couldn’t hang on for the duration. Adams pitched five innings in relief to earn the win in the circle for the Lady Raiders. She gave up two runs on four hits.

Mt. Pleasant 20, Santa Fe 7: It took longer than expected for Mt. Pleasant to put it all together, but after the fourth inning, it was all Lady Tigers. Mt. Pleasant broke open a tight 8-7 affair when the Lady Tigers scored 12 unanswered runs in the fifth and sixth innings to put the game away. Terralyn Pemberton hit the first Lady ‘Cats home run on their new field in the third inning.

Brentwood 9, Summit 0: Brentwood returned the favor from earlier this season with a rout at home. The Lady Bruins weathered eight Spartan hits in the contest, but did not give up a run. Lily Kate Richards, who pitched brilliantly in the Spartans’ home win against Brentwood, was victimized by defensive errors. She gave up just two earned runs in seven innings work, striking out 10 in the loss.

Christ Presbyterian 4, Zion Chr. 1: Zion Christian, now amidst a five-game losing streak, struggled to find any offense against CPA. The Lady Eagles were led by Isabella Cecil and Ella Davidson, who each had a pair of hits in the game. The timely hit was elusive, however, and Zion couldn’t get any run support for Kyndall Daranovich in the circle. Daranovich allowed just one earned run in the loss, striking out five.

Soccer

Columbia Central 6, Coffee Co. 0: Kameron Smith and Brewer Wall each tallied a pair of goals, while Mason Hollandsworth and Victor Ramirez added goals of their own — all in the first half. Ramirez also assisted on one of Wall’s scores, as well as the Hollandsworth goal. The Lions have not allowed a single goal in District 8-AAA play to this point, as Dane Holley turned in his seventh clean sheet of the season.

Spring Hill 4, Giles Co. 1: Carlos Casco and Federico Locatelli each tallied a pair of goals in the Raiders’ win.
