Nashville sports talk radio icon George Plaster will soon be back on the airwaves in Southern Middle Tennessee.

Beginning Monday, July 12, The George Plaster Show will air from 2-4 p.m. on WKOM 101.7-FM out of Columbia.

Plaster’s current show is based out of Nashville’s WNSR studio and Columbia is the first affiliate market for what Plaster hopes will soon become a large network of stations across Tennessee. He is joined daily by former Vanderbilt football coach Watson Brown and Terry McCormick of TitansInsider.com.

“I am very excited to get on the airwaves in Columbia,” Plaster said. “This is one of the biggest stations in Middle Tennessee, and the love for sports here is fantastic.”

Plaster is a graduate of Battle Ground Academy in Franklin, and was inducted into the Distinguished Alumnus Hall of Fame in 2008. He spent time as the play-by-play voice for Vanderbilt and several different shows across sports talk radio and television in the Nashville market.

“His deep ties to Middle Tennessee and the teams he covers makes his show second-to-none in the market,” WKOM owner-operator Delk Kennedy said. “He is going to bring a wealth of knowledge on sports to our listeners, and we are excited to have him.”

This show will replace Sean Hannity in the early afternoon slot, following The Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Southern Middle Tennessee Sports Today, featuring Maurice Patton and Chris Yow, will now fill the afternoon drive time slot from 4-6 p.m.

“We are going to talk about the Braves, Titans, Preds, Tennessee, Vanderbilt and everything else in between,” Plaster said. “We are ready to talk to the folks in Southern Middle Tennessee about sports, so get on the phone and call the show!”
