{"id":9183,"date":"2021-02-17T16:12:50","date_gmt":"2021-02-17T22:12:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sm-tnsports.com\/?p=9183"},"modified":"2021-02-17T16:12:51","modified_gmt":"2021-02-17T22:12:51","slug":"postseason-plans-paused-for-district-8-aaa-district-11-aaa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sm-tnsports.com\/2021\/02\/17\/postseason-plans-paused-for-district-8-aaa-district-11-aaa\/","title":{"rendered":"Postseason plans paused for District 8-AAA, District 11-AAA"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>SM-Tn Sports<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Basketball tournament schedules for District 11-AAA and District 8-AAA have been set and reset, respectively, in consideration of the current and upcoming weather conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In District 11-AAA, brackets were established at Wednesday\u2019s seeding meeting after the majority of teams in the nine-team league were unable to complete their pandemic-interrupted schedules because of this week\u2019s snow and ice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe agreement we came up with at the beginning of the season was that, if we couldn\u2019t get all our games in, we\u2019d (seed) on win percentage rather than total wins,\u201d Ravenwood boys coach Patrick Whitlock said. \u201cAt that time, it was because of COVID, but now it\u2019s because of weather.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Page, which earned home games for both the boys and girls quarterfinals, was the only program to get in 16 district games. Franklin, ranked fourth in the Associated Press Class AAA statewide poll, was the clearcut No. 1 seed on the boys side, while fifth-ranked Brentwood is the girls top seed \u2013 just ahead of the Lady Patriots by virtue of the Lady Bruins\u2019 one less loss.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The tournament will open Sunday with 3 p.m. play-in games \u2013 Spring Hill boys at Dickson County, Independence girls at Centennial \u2013 followed by boys and girls quarterfinals on Monday, semifinals on Tuesday and championships and consolations on Wednesday. All games will be played at higher seeds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThat was really the only time you could do it,\u201d Whitlock said. \u201cWe\u2019re thinking Saturday is going to be the first day we could get back to practice. No one really wanted to play with no practice.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong>Sunday<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Boys play-in, Spring Hill (9) at Dickson Co.
